Casa per vacanze

Vacation home, Simi, Greece 2005

The house, originally a ruin, has been completely rebuilt following the strict aesthetic principles and the constraints imposed by local authorities. Outside the building maintained the diversity of forms and materials of the original ruins while inside a more homogeneous space was created keeping a strong connection with the external areas.

Three main blocks on three distinct levels are connected by terraces. In the first block a large room with private bathroom opens onto a patio, fully enclosed and protected from the strong winds typical of the area, allow a higher level of privacy.

The remaining two blocks are adjacent and connected by a door and have on the first floor a kitchen and small dining room and a larger sitting room with mezzanine. Downstairs two bedrooms are connected by a shared bathroom and both open onto a large terrace overlooking the harbor and sea.
